OM NAMAH SHIVAY! PRESIDIANS SHOW THEIR DEVOTION

Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in the honor of Lord Shiva. People celebrate this day by fasting, making sweets, offering fruits and milk to Lord Shiva. To educate our students the importance of this festival, we, at Presidium, celebrated the festival of MAHA SHIVARATRI with full devotion and sanctity. The Special assembly commenced with Shiv Vandana, various devotional hymns, shlokas, by the students in the veneration of Lord Shiva were also performed. Also, the students of Nursery and prep depicted the SHIV PARIVAR and it seemed as if God himself had appeared on the school premises. The students danced to the tunes of Shiv Bhakti. The sacred chant "OM NAMAH SHIVAYA" was also chanted.

PRESIDIANS ENHANCE LANGUAGE SKILLS WITH ONE & MANY ACTIVITY

Proper grammar is important for better communication. The value of learning how to form plural nouns is that this skill is just one of the many things, one must learn to be fluent in English. Keeping this in mind, an activity was taken up for grade prep for the concept of One – Many, with concrete objects and pictures. Image rich approach was the main factor which also helped to create more interest in the concept. Presidians displayed a lot of enthusiasm in placing the pictures under the required headings. The focus was on the common nouns used in everyday speech.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT THE NUMBER LINE WITH A FUN-FILLED ACTIVITY

The number line helps students visualize the relationship of one number to another. Students develop their mathematical thinking using the number line. It also gives a visual representation to the abstract nature of addition and subtraction and helps students to locate or address each number. Through the number line concept, students actively participated in "Hopping on squares activity" wherein they understood the relative magnitude and position of numbers. Students also enjoyed sticking tags to line up the numbers. Through this idea, students learned the sequence of numbers better and enjoyed the fun-filled activity.

किसी शब्द का विपरीत या उल्टा अर्थ देने वाले शब्दों को विलोम शब्द, विपरीतार्थक अथवा प्रतिलोम शब्द कहते है, जैसे- सत्य-असत्य , ज्ञान – अज्ञान , नवीन -प्राचीन आदि l हिंदी भाषा में विलोम शब्दों का विशेष महत्व है l विलोम शब्द भाषा सीखने व शब्दों का सामर्थ्ये बढ़ाने में मदद करते है l प्रिसिडियम स्कूल में भी विलोम शब्दों की समझ और मजबूत करने के लिए एक पुनरावृत्ति गति विधि आयोजित की गयी जिसका उद्द्येश्य कक्षा के छात्रों में विलोम शब्दों की समझ व उनका भाषा में प्रयोग, खेलो के माध्यम से करना था l उल्टा- पुल्टा बताओ , मेरा साथी कौन जैसे खेलो में जहां बच्चों को दिखाए गए चित्रों के उलटे शब्द बताने थे व अपने साथी ( विपरीत ) को पहचानना था बच्चों ने विपरीत अथवा विलोम शब्दों के अभ्यास किया l बच्चों के उत्साह व उनकी शब्दों को जानने व समझने की कोशिश बहुत ही सराहनीय थी l

Dance competition in school is not just about trophies but it makes students better in life. It is a great way to build up an emotional resilience boosting the confidence and a great stress buster. To make our Presidians procure all these skills we organized an Intra Class Dance Competition with the themes: patriotism, folk and western. Our enthusiastic and top-notch Presidians fascinated everyone with their impressive performances. They dressed up in colorful costumes twirled around and set the stage on fire with their thrilling performances. It was highly gratifying to witness such a wonderful and mesmerizing event.

ARDENT PARTICIPATION BY PRESIDIANS AT SPELLATHON COMPETITION

Keeping this in mind, we, at Presidium organized a spellathon competition for grade nursery and prep. Spellathon is a spelling provocation activity wherein the students are asked to spell a broad selection of words enhancing their word stock. Preparing for a spellathon helps students to understand words more deeply and revamp their word construction skills eloquently. The students were all braced with their phonics knowledge and ardently participated in this activity.

MEMORABLE REPUBLIC DAY FESTIVITIES AT PRESIDIUM

Presidium celebrated the nostalgic occasion of this red-letter day: REPUBLIC DAY in the school premises. The entire school courtyard was shining in the shades of tricolor. The festivities commenced by the unfurling of the National Flag followed by the National Anthem by the school choir. Later in the atrium area, some parts of the constitution were read and the achievements of our country were shared by our magnificent speakers. A musical act on women empowerment by our aspiring and courageous girls left everyone awestruck. To emphasize the idea of unity in diversity, the students of nursery wearing the dresses of various states did a ramp walk. The spirit of patriotism and pride fueled the school.

इसी अवधारणा को आधार बनाते हुए प्रेसिडियम की कक्षा प्रेप में अक्षर 'भ' का परिचय करवाया गया | इस गतिविधि को एक कविता " जंगल में भगदड़ " के साथ प्रस्तुत किया गया | अक्षर 'भ' का परिचय देते हुए शिक्षिका ने विभिन्न जानवरो के चित्रों को दिखाते हुए उनके नामों का उल्लेख किया | अक्षर भ को केंद्रित करते हुए भेड़, भेड़िया, भालू इत्यादि जैसे जानवरो के नामों को दोहराया गया | इसके पश्चात छात्रों को जानवरों के नाम भी दिखाए | फिर उन नामों को जानवरो के चित्रों के साथ जोड़ने की गतिविधि भी करवाई गयी | तदोपरांत शिक्षिका ने बच्चों को जानवरों की तरह जंगल में पकड़म पकड़ाई का खेल खिलाया और बच्चों ने खेल खेल में अक्षर 'भ' की पहचान सीखी |

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH INMATES OF ORPHANAGE

The students of Presidium visited Holy Cross Orphanage on the eve of Christmas. Students were very happy to meet the underprivileged section of the society. The celebration started with a prayer followed by cutting of the cake and singing of Christmas Carols. They also decorated the Christmas tree with children of the Orphanage. Students brought some gifts as a token of love and warmth like books, chocolates, stationery kits, mufflers, gloves, etc. for them. This brought joy ‘n’ cheer on everyone’s face. Games like passing-the-parcel, musical chairs were also played with them. It was indeed heart-warming to witness the ease with which they were dancing and singing with our students. The memories will be cherished for a lifetime. The students took a pledge to work for the upliftment of such sections of the society.

KINDNESS IS FREE SPRINKLE THAT STUFF EVERYWHERE!

I believe in the magic of kindness. With this thought in mind, we at Presidium Dwarka 6, have created a WALL OF KINDNESS wherein our Presidians share the meaning of kindness, and what kindness is for them. They promised to be a Santa for every needy they meet and to help them out with their warm gestures of sharing. We teach our students, "the joy you give to others is the joy that comes back to you." The students also wrote their thoughts on the kindness wall. The students volunteered by donating their old warm clothes, toys, etc. We believe in spreading happiness, and our Presidians joined hands with us in this noble cause of spreading kindness on this Christmas.
