PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE SPIRIT OF SHARING & CARING ON CHRISTMAS

Presidium celebrated Christmas with great fervor and enthusiasm. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols. The school was beautifully decorated in a  festive look with bells, streamers, Christmas tree and snowman. Our Presidians were dressed up as Santas and fairies. The students sang melodious carols and danced beautifully to wish their teachers and peers. The significance of Christmas was explained through the story of Jesus Christ. Throughout the day students were engrossed in activities like card making, Christmas tree decorations, snowman making, etc. To inculcate the spirit and joy of giving the wall of kindness was created on the occasion so that everyone can donate for the noble cause of humanity.

AN ACTIVITY IS ORGANIZED FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN ACTION WORDS

At Presidium, we believe in learning by doing. An activity on action words, for the students of grade prep were taken up keeping this philosophy in mind. Learning with fun is considered the most effective strategy. The students tried reading and demonstrating action words. They were involved in performing actions like jumping, crawling, sliding, playing, hopping, etc. with the action dice.The activity was an amalgamation of fun and curriculum which proved to be really effective in improving the learning skills of the students. It enhanced their interest for the concept with an improved memory and attention span. The activity kept the students interested and the learning became more productive.

STUDENTS REVISIT THE CONCEPTS OF THE THEME-’CLOTHES’

The culmination provides students to revisit the concept from starting till the end in chronological order to foster a greater understanding and build the connection of all the things learned throughout the activity. Presidium planned a culmination activity for the students of grade 1, with the theme clothes, wherein the students revised the concepts related to Clothes like various kinds of clothes available according to the season, occasion, and purpose. They also revised the vocabulary related to clothes, measurements, uniforms, and accessories worn with clothes. It turned out to be an excellent opportunity for them as they not only reviewed and revised the concept but also enthusiastically participated and showed their understanding.

STUDENTS COMPREHEND ROAD SAFETY MEASURES THROUGH ACTIVITIES

The TBL theme 'Out On Road' was culminated by grade nursery  to promote the  holistic development of students. It directly connected students to their immediate surroundings so that they establish their classroom learning to the real world. It develops the observation skills and knowledge about different buildings and their uses, vehicles, helpers and animals they see on the road. The theme is designed in such a manner that it includes activities through which students vary their body movements and speed, hence develop their gross motor skills. Safety is a very crucial aspect of social development. Therefore, this theme engages students in activities related to road safety.

Our powerful and tough Presidians again set a benchmark in the 15th Sub -Junior Taekwondo championship.  In this inevitable event our students bagged around 21 medals at sub junior and state level. Their accomplishment marked a paradigm in uprearing the name of Presidium school to higher standards of success.

SOULFUL RENDITIONS BY STUDENTS ON NAVY DAY

Navy Day marks the Indian Navy’s Operation Trident that took place in the year 1971.Today Presidians of Dwarka - 6, presented an assembly on ‘Indian Navy Day’. The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer, which is believed to bring peace and serenity to our minds and souls. Then speeches were given by the students to apprise the audience about Indian Navy Day. This was followed by a skit on the significance of celebrating Navy Day on 4th December presented by the students who were dressed as the Navy personals which was loved by the audience. Then students mesmerized everyone with their dance performance on a few patriotic songs. The assembly culminated with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem.

AN ARTISTIC WAY TO LEARN THE THEME- TEXTILES

Active participation helps to bring out the best in children when it comes to learning. In our endeavour to follow this approach, Presidium had planned another hands-on experience activity called 'Block printing on the handkerchief', wherein our young scholars of grade-3 were apprised of the process of printing on clothes in the subject TBL, under the theme-Textile. They applied a thin layer of paint on the blocks and then put the coloured side of the block on the handkerchief creatively. It was indeed a fun learning and enriching experience for the students.

PRESIDIUM CELEBRATES THE MOST AWAITED SPORTS DAY-THE INVINCIBLES

The much-awaited Annual Sports Day ‘The Invincibles’ was held with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta gave away the medals and trophies to our winners to boost their confidence and morale. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the March past band followed by the oath ceremony administered by the sports captain. The program also included Indian folk dances, yoga, and drill performance.

RECAPITULATION ACTIVITY ENHANCES PRESIDIANS’ LEARNING ABILITY

Just like everything in the world, numbers too have number names. In math, numbers have names in words. To impart the skill of learning number names a Recapitulation Activity was organized for grade prep, wherein, students were given 3 sets of jumbled cards and were told to organize cards in such a way that numeral, number name and number of dot should come together. They also enjoyed the matching of number names with numeral which enhanced their experience of learning by doing.

STUDENTS COMPREHEND ‘PATTERN’ IN A PLAY-WAY METHOD

The pattern is an essential aspect of Mathematics as it helps students to develop reasoning skills.  With this belief, we at Presidium conducted few activities related to Patterns and gave them hands-on experience with concrete materials. They formed various patterns with blocks based on colors, shapes, and size with ice-cream sticks and many more available resources. Then, they enjoyed playing the rhythmic clapping game where different patterns were practiced by clapping hands. This helped them to understand the patterns through sounds. All students were actively involved and participated enthusiastically, which helped them to learn and understand the concept in a play-way method.
