Presidium lays a foundation to build a strong self esteem amongst our Presidians and so our teachers empower their students with appreciating their best qualities to bring out their best version. EXCITING CULMINATION OF THEME - ‘SUMMER & RAINY SEASON’

We, at Presidium focus on laying a strong foundation for the students. Keeping this in mind, grade Nursery organized a culmination of the theme ‘Summer and Rainy season’. The class was divided into groups. One group recited the rhymes like ‘Summer is here and Rain Rain Go Away’. The other group displayed a creative blend around the theme and engaged themselves in activities like making sun mask, hand fan and lemonade. The third group identified and classified the clothes and food eaten during the season. The students got a chance to depict the theme and gain confidence while working in team activities.

THEME ‘WATER’ CULMINATED WITH AN INTERESTING ACTIVITY & A PLEDGE

As we know that the water is one of the most sacred substances on the earth. The students of Grade 2 recently culminated the theme ‘water’ in the subject TBL. Where in, our young students got the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding about the concepts related to water like sources of water, uses of water, effects of dirty water on health, consequences of wasting water and so on. Through this culmination they all took a pledge to save water as there is a very fine line between using and wasting water. They were sensitized towards the relevance of using clean or filtered water through a skit. A poster making activity was taken up where students expressed creatively how they can contribute to conserve water.

PRESIDIUM CELEBRATES JANMASHTAMI WITH ZEAL

We, at Presidium believe our children to be connected with our custom, culture and traditions and heritage. Keeping this in mind, the festival of Janamashtami was celebrated in the school atrium with passion and great zeal. Our young Presidians were looking very attractive and pleasing in their ethnic attires of Radha and Krishna. The school gave a vibrant depiction of Krishna Janmabhoomi. Presidians performed on the songs depicting the krishna leela. The enchanting mantra ‘HARE KRISHNA HARE RAMA’ filled the environment with pious and pure notions in the school premises. The school choir sung a devotional song dedicated to Lord Krishna.

DIENES BLOCKS GIVE A NEW EDGE TO TEACHING MATHEMATICS

We recently conducted an activity in which students of grade 1 had demonstrated their numerical understanding by using BaseTen Blocks or Dienes Block. Dienes Blocks are mathematical manipulative used by students to learn basic concepts including place value, counting, number concept, addition and subtraction.The young learners were given the flash cards which represented using the Dienes Blocks. This activity was based on learning by doing and helped in developing holistic understanding about the concept. All students participated and enjoyed the activity which helped them to polish their understanding in a fun filled positive way.

Our young Presidians got an opportunity to meet Vice President Venkiah Naidu on this auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan at his residence. Meeting such a leader is an experience in its own stream. The simplicity of the leader lies in his humble attitude and how he addressed our aspiring students stating the importance of the festival of trust among brothers and sisters.

CHERISHING INDIAN TRADITIONS THROUGH AN ASSEMBLY ON RAKSHABANDHAN

A brother and sister relationship is like Tom and Jerry. They tease and irritate each other, knock each other down, but can't live without each other. To celebrate this sweet and sour bond of teasing, fighting, loving and caring for each other, Presidium Dwarka 6, celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan with full fervor and gaiety. The day started with welcoming our cute Presidians wearing bright ethnic clothes. Another attraction for the day was a special assembly on Rakshabandhan. Our students performed a dance on the adorable track, ‘phoolon ka taaron ka sabka kehna hai’ and a small skit on the relationship of a brother and sister. We always focus on inclination of our Presidians to our roots, morals, values, traditions and culture that's why such festivals are celebrated with full zeal and zest.

PRESIDIANS FOSTER THE FEELING OF NATIONALISM ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

This year on the occasion of Independence Day, Presidium Dwarka 6, took the theme of ‘Being A Responsible And Proud Indian’. Our students carried out with the drive to create awareness in the nearby areas. Our Presidians took the oath of keeping our country clean with swachh Bharat Abhiyan, planting more trees and making the country proud with the launch of Chandrayan 2 etc. A special assembly was conducted where they paid tribute to the army personnel. A beautiful skit was also presented.The school choir left everyone spellbound with their patriotic song "kandho se milte hain kandhe" The school atrium echoed with the slogans ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Jai Hind’. Throughout the day the feelings of nationalism, unity and integrity was prevalent in the school.

Physical education programs are needed to increase the physical competence, health-related fitness, self -responsibility and enjoyment of physical activity for all students so that they can be physically active for a lifetime. Many activities taught in Presidium during physical development classes focus on group working to solve problems as a team. These opportunities are excellent for developing both leadership and cooperation skills. Keeping this in mind, our experienced and energetic coaches engaged our students in various team building activities like relay races, tug of war, skating, taekwon-do, yoga, chess, etc. These activities not only release stress but create a positive influence on memory, concentration, and classroom behavior.

GRADE PREP STUDENTS GUESS MISSING NUMBERS ON A MATH GRID

The mention of a game brought sparkle in the eyes of the students and energised the classroom with excitement. Students love to play games, which is rightly proved with our philosophy, when our grade prep students were engaged in the game of finding missing and after or before numbers on a grid.
