PRESIDIANS SPEND A WONDERFUL TIME ON CHRISTMAS

Christmas is one of the biggest festivals celebrated worldwide on 25th December every year to mark the birthday of Jesus Christ. Although this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of our daily lives and celebrations, however, our students and teachers have been celebrating every event virtually with online classes and spreading the joy keeping the essence of festivities. Students of Presidium witnessed another beautiful special assembly to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in the true spirit of Christmas. The students felt excited, joyous, and made the virtual school environment enriched with the positive energy of happiness and celebration. They had prepared and well-presented various energetic and engaging performances like speeches, dances, skit and sang Christmas carols. The boundless excitement of celebrating the festival was clearly evident on our student's faces.

PRESIDIANS ENRICH THEIR VOCABULARY WITH ANTONYMS ACTIVITY

Antonyms are essential in building our vocabulary as well as improving our writing skills. The more words we know to describe a variety of situations and feelings along with their opposites, the more we can express ourselves with ease. This is an important exercise while learning any language. Keeping this in mind, an activity was conducted related to antonyms for grade 2 students. The activity was based on the concept of opposites, where the students had to find the opposites of the words. Students energetically participated in the activity. It was indeed a fun-filled learning experience that enhanced the understanding of antonyms and their usage.

PRESIDIANS ENHANCE VOCABULARY ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF CLOTHING

Clothing (also known as clothes, apparel, and attire) is worn on the body, typically made of fabrics or textiles. The wearing of clothing is mostly restricted to gender, social occasion, seasons, and jobs. Presidium planned an activity for the students of grade 1, with the theme clothes, wherein students revised the concepts related to clothes like various types of clothes available according to seasons (summer, winter and rainy), occasion (like marriage, puja, festivities, casual wear) and purpose (uniforms and jobs). Students wore different clothes and showcased the clothes and accessories worn according to the purpose with full zeal and enthusiasm. Presidians developed rich vocabulary related to clothes, measurements, uniforms, and accessories worn with different clothes types. The activity helped the children to develop a greater understanding of the theme of Clothes and build connections with real life.

STUDENTS MARK ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY WITH SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

"Use energy right, make the future bright."
With this beautiful thought, students of Grade -3 presented a special assembly to understand the significance of the need to conserve energy. National Energy Conservation Day is observed every year on 14th December. It is the day for building awareness regarding energy conservation, energy efficiency, and frugality in energy use. Our young learners spoke about the importance of energy and its conservation and focused on saving it for future usage. Presidians also discussed the measures that should be exerted to conserve energy as saving energy reduces the pollution level, such as using LED bulbs, solar energy, using 5 star rated appliances, etc. They recited poems, created informative posters with motivational slogans like "Save today, survive tomorrow," followed by a PowerPoint presentation. In the end, they pledged a wholehearted commitment towards energy conservation.

PRESIDIANS ORGANIZE A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON UNICEF DAY

UNICEF, also known as the United Nations Children's Fund, is a United Nations agency responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. Like UNICEF, we at Presidium believe in giving our children opportunities and aim. To encourage the motto of UNICEF, a special assembly was conducted. Students of Grade 2 energetically and exquisitely shuttle the merit of UNICEF and their fertile thoughts. They created awareness against girls' education, child labor, and exploitation of children. Students enthusiastically participated and presented their views and thoughts through positive and thoughtful speeches and messages depicting posters and banners and the gesture of extending helping hands towards the human fraternity.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT QUANTIFICATION WITH ZEST

Quantification is one of the first mathematical skills that children learn. It begins very early in life, well before counting and number identification. Quantification is the ability to identify sets of objects by automatic recognition. Sometimes it is called subitizing. Our nursery students have showcased their learning of the concept through hands-on experience of the activity. The learning of our aspiring mathematicians is evident through their depictions and representations. The students enjoyed the activity in a fun-filled manner.

“Food is not just eating energy. It’s an experience”- Guy Fieri.
For some people, Food is just a necessity to satisfy basic needs; for some people Food is a pleasure that plays a significant role in their understanding of happiness. As India is a huge country, it is practically impossible to visit every state and city for a culinary experience; therefore, Presidians of Grade-1 organized an Indian food festival consisting of delicious Indian Food to refresh drinks to mouth watering desserts. The main objective behind the event was making the children aware of the names of various food items and the cultures they come from. The students showcased not only the cuisines of different states but also different items reflecting the culture of that particular state. Presidians presented a handpicked list of food items of varied Indian states from north to south and from west to east. The special workshop was a perfect amalgamation of Food, fun, and learning for the leaders of tomorrow.

PRESIDIANS ADVOCATE ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS WITH NUKKAD NATAK

10th December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the world we want, the need for global solidarity, and our interconnectedness and shared humanity. This was no better understood by the leaders of tomorrow as they presented a Nukkad Natak on the rights of the children and expressed empathy towards them, taking a stand for care and love and right to education for them. The Presidians who have a strong belief in taking a stand for the right cause could portray their feelings through this Natak and spoke about it through speeches and slogans. They also made posters to commemorate the day. The observance of International Human Rights Day made our upcoming generation aware of the rights that a human being is inherently entitled to.

SHOW & TELL COMPETITION UNLEASHES ORATORY TALENTS OF STUDENTS

The 'Show & Tell' activity helps students develop their verbal communication skills, enhance social skills, and foster the young minds' public speaking competency. The students were informed to present any object of their choice. Charts and posters were prepared by the students of Grade prep, which added to the competition's beauty. Competitions like these improve students' involvement in individual activity, infusing them with originality, self-confidence, and self-reliance. The inspiring presentation left no stone unturned to achieve a realistic appraisal of their skills and discover the power of spoken words. Students participated in this Show and Tell competition with full of energy and spirit. It was a great experience to witness this event.

PRESIDIANS STRENGTHEN THEIR NUMBER NAME KNOWLEDGE

Counting is used by children to demonstrate knowledge of the number names and number system. The numbers can be expressed invariably, and number names are one amongst them. Students should learn it during their early age learning modules with correct spellings and proficiency. Our teachers made this concept easier to learn by playing various number games with their students. The names of numbers are essential for each student to know. To recall the numbers and number names, a special activity was organized by grade prep wherein the students showcased their learnings by depicting them through chart papers, flashcards, etc. The outcome of the activity was very much visible through their sharing of the concept, which helped in strengthening their knowledge.
