“Energy conservation is the foundation of energy independence.” — Tom Allen
Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service. This can be achieved either by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service used. Young Presidians presented a special assembly on National Energy Conservation Day with the objective to drive mass awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation. Students spoke about energy conservation and its significance with speeches, poems, motivational quotes and informative slogan posters stating today’s ignorance would bring a dark tomorrow. They discussed the measures that need to be adopted for energy consumption like by using LED bulbs, maximizing the usage of solar energy, using 5 star rated appliances and not using tube-light when the sun is bright etc. and doing a bit on their part to minimize energy consumption. Presidians wholeheartedly pledged to save power for a green planet for future generations and go green with renewable energy.
