“Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.” ~ Dalai Lama
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. The theme of International Peace Day of 2021 is “Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world.” In 2021, as we heal from the COVID-19 pandemic, we are inspired to think creatively and collectively about how to help everyone recover better, how to build resilience, and how to transform our world into one that is more equal, more just, equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and healthier place. Presidians observed the day with numerous speeches, role play of leaders who are the epitome of peace like Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and quotes on peace and harmony which is mandatory for the development of the entire mankind. They drew the posters of peace and bird dove which is the symbol of peace and started to look unto those who have been peacemakers and peacekeepers to learn what we can do together and individually to make the world a more peaceful place.
