Composting is a fun and easy-to-learn activity that helps students familiarize themselves with the environment by teaching them how to turn waste into nutrient-rich soils. To reduce their screen time and increase their curiosity, students of Grade IV at Presidium were engaged in an activity to prepare compost. The first teacher explained that with the help of bacteria and other organisms, all organic material would decompose into rich, dark compost. They also learned this is a great way to care for their communities and the natural environment. Afterward, they discussed the procedure, and the teacher encouraged the students to prepare the compost at home. Students enthusiastically participated and demonstrated their knowledge while preparing compost at home. They also learned how they could contribute to environmental well-being in a very simple and fun manner.
