Onam is the biggest festival in the state of Kerala. It is the harvest festival celebrating nature's reward after a year of hard work by the farmers. It also marks the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali. The beauty of the festivals lies in its secularism. The festivities last for over ten days. The Grade 2 Students were apprised with the knowledge of this festival through a special assembly. Our Young Presidians exuberantly participated in the assembly by giving speeches on the festival's importance and performing a dance on occasion. The students portrayed their understanding of the festival by intricately decorating Pookalam (Rangoli) in their homes and penning down their imagination in the beautiful scenes of a breathtaking snake boat race. The students took away a message of oneness and brotherhood that the festival signifies.
