What is to be taught should have a direct relationship with the actual happening in life." - Johan Dewey.
Mathematics is the science of measurement, quantity and magnitude. It dispenses with the quantitative aspects of our life and knowledge. With this belief, we at Presidium organized an activity linked to the concept of Measurement, with an aim to apprise our students about the various measurement techniques and tools using non- standard units (such as hand-span, pencil, book, notebook and other things available from the immediate environment). Pupils were exposed to different objects and measuring tools, to figure out the length, weight, capacity and time. The activity was indeed an enriching experience for the young scholars as they gained knowledge through a number of constructive and interesting hands-on experiences.
